Study Abroad Workshop - Wednesday, September 25, 4 pm, Tobin 423

Are you interested in study abroad for Spring 2014 or later? Then attend this workshop! A representative from the university's International Programs Office will discuss everything you need to know about applying to various programs (some of which include internships). Prof. Carolyn Cave will also attend to answer questions about your major and studying abroad. In addition, psychology students who have studied abroad will discuss their experiences. Pack your bags! Students interested in Study abroad for Spring 2014 should visit the IPO ASAP as most applications are due in October.
Getting into Graduate School Workshop -- Monday, October 7, 5 pm, Tobin Hall 304
Here's an opportunity to hear Dr. Erik Cheries and clinical graduate student Rebea Ametrano disciss strategies for applying to graduate school, differences among various programs, importance of research, and related issues of interest to those of you planning to apply to graduate school in psychology.
Senior Meetings -- Wednesday, October 16 (Tobin 304) and Thursday, October 17 (Tobin 204), 4 pm
If you are planning to graduate next February or May, you should attend a Senior Meeting. Prof. Rammy Rahhal will be providing you with information related to your psychology graduation requirements as well as answering any questions you may have. Beginning early October you can sign up for one of the above dates on the sheets at Tobin 501.
Internship Workshop -- Tuesday, October 22, 4 pm, Bartlett 301
Are you thinking of pursuing an internship for Summer or Fall 2013? Prof. Tammy Rahhal will discuss the steps necessary for securing an internship for psychology credits. As well, Brian Frenette from Career Services will tell you all you need to know about the application process.

You may be surprised at the wide range of work that a psychology major prepares you for. Alexandria Papa earned a bachelors degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UMass Amherst, MBA at Suffolk University, and Masters of Science in Bioinformatics at Boston University. Before landing her current role at a start-up - GenoSpace in Cambridge as a Biomedical Systems Analyst, Alexandria has worked in traditional and non-traditional jobs for a predominantly science-focused background. As a co-founder of the Women In Bio Greater Boston chapter and committee member of Science Club For Girls, she has found that networking and mentoring other women in the industry help in learning the different career paths that are available, and ultimately which one you decide to move forward in.
