Study Abroad Workshop - Thursday, Feb. 7, 4 pm, Tobin 423
Are you interested in study abroad for Summer 2013 or later? Then attend this workshop! A representative from the university's International Programs Office will discuss everything you need to know about applying to various programs (some of which include internships). Prof. Carolyn Cave will also attend to answer questions about your major and studying abroad. In addition, psychology students who have studied abroad will discuss their experiences. Pack your bags! Students interested in Study abroad for Fall 2013 should visit the IPO ASAP as most applications are due in March & April.
College of Natural Sciences Workshop: Is Graduate School Right for You? Tuesday, Feb 19. 6-7 p.m. 222 Morrill II
Michael Alderman from the UMass Graduate School will lead the discussion with CNS graduate students to answer questions such as: Is graduate school right for me? How do I apply? How about paying for school? How do I know where to apply? Who do I ask for recommendations? What about my personal statement? (The Psychology department also offers a graduate school workshop each fall)
Internship Planning Session --Monday, Feb 25, 4 pm, Tobin 204
Are you thinking of pursuing an internship for Summer or Fall 2013? Prof. Tammy Rahhal will discuss the steps necessary for securing an internship for psychology credits. As well, Brian Frenette from Career Services will tell you all you need to know about the application process.
Sophomore Meetings - Wed, March 6 & Thursday, March 7, 4 pm, Tobin 204
Are you currently a sophomore or new to the major? We strongly encourage you to sign up for a sophomore meeting. At these meetings. Professor Tammy Rahhal will discuss departmental resources, opportunities in the major, and important degree requirements. Register for one of these meetings soon (sign up outside Tobin 501) to learn everythingyu need to know about the psychology major!
Commonwealth College Weekly Wednesday Workshop: Non-Profit Careers - Wed, March 13, 6-8 pm, 504 Goodell
Are you interested in work that serves others instead of a bottom line? Consider a career path in non-profit organizations. Join us to meet alumni and hear about their career paths, learn the latest trends in their field, and get their recommendations on how you can make the most of your time at UMass. All interested students on campus are welcome and encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required by March 12 to weeklywednesday@gmail.com. A light dinner of sandwiches and sides will be served.
